One of the goals of my 40 over 40 project is not only to celebrate women over 40 in beautiful portraits but also to share their stories and accomplishments.

This time I would like you to meet 48 and fabulous Talaya Frazier. She is the founder and board member of  https://www.cc4c.org and has raised over 5 million dollars to help hundreds of children throughout Texas battling rare or undiagnosed conditions since 2012.

She is the owner of https://www.genesisjewelry.com a mother, a philanthropist, and a Jesus-loving woman. Talaya has completed over 30 marathons, 10 consecutive Boston Marathons, and was on the USA Team for the World’s Half Ironman.

What is your favorite restaurant in Austin? True Foods

Could you tell me something about yourself? I love being in God’s nature. The mountains are my favorite place JUST to BE. I enjoy making traditions and getting others involved in traditions. Married for 26 years to my college sweetheart, Kenny, and I am the proud mother of my two treasures who I love. Talaya Ann age 23 and Cheyanna age 18.

What is your major accomplishment so far? Completed over 30 marathons, and 10 consecutive Boston Marathons. Was on the USA Team for the World’s Half Ironman. Founding CC4C (Cheyanna’s Champions 4 Children 501c3) in 2012 it has now raised over 5 million dollars to help hundreds of children throughout the state of Texas battling rare or undiagnosed conditions.

What are you enjoying the most of this season in your life? A season of rest. I now have CC4C in a place where the mission is propelling forward without my leadership and flourishing.

Now I can circle back to my jewelry business which was founded by my mom in 1975 when I was born. I am ready to bring her vision to fruition. My children are nearly raised and I now can be more of their best friend and mother at the same time. My husband and I are getting ready to start marking off things from our bucket list.

What are some tips for embracing aging and finding joy in life? You realize as you get older the people with the most beautiful hearts are the ones who truly RADIATE beauty. There is like a magnetic pull to women who exemplify God’s love, generosity, compassion, gentleness, and peace. So as long as we continue to develop our hearts the beauty on the outside will follow!

What is your next goal/adventure? Rebrand and launch Genesis Fine Jewelry.

 

What would you tell your 20-year-old self? Sleep more. Lack of sleep is detrimental to health. Don’t take life so seriously. Enjoy life. Play more. Embrace moments with people. It is ok to go to bed with dirty dishes in the sink if you get to visit more with someone you love!
